I believe this is my first time asking for help rather than just browsing everyone's lovely tutorials, but I've been going for a few hours now and enough is enough. I've tried way too many tutorials here and going it alone hasn't proved much better.
So here I am.
I'm asking for a coloring similar to the icon I'm using right now (which I made but no matter how I fiddle I can't get this image to look even close).
I've used curves to make it more manageable but that has only served to make it icky and pixelated, I've used sharpen and soft light and everything under the sun to try to make it look right but I'm afraid I'm too photoshop-challenged to figure out any sort of combination. Resizing it hasn't helped; even resizing it in my Photoshop Elements, which makes it usually look smoother, didn't work.
Any advice you give me would be a blessing; I really hope this isn't against any rules anywhere. Trust me, I've looked through the memories but I've come up with nothing that has helped.
I have PSE 5.0 and PS7
