First take a 100 x 100 image (icon)

In this tutorial I use this.
-duplicate base.
-Now add a new adjustment layer, hue/saturation layer right below the background copy. Now click on the eye thing right beside the background copy so it can't be seen.
-Add as much blue as possible to the base, since her eyes are blue (but use whatever color the eyes are in your image) and then when you're done right click on your base and press merge visible. Right now the base should look similar to this.

-Since it looks like the eyes don't show out, use your color variations, but selective colors layer will be fine if you don't have color variations or use anything to make the blue stick out more. Now add as much blue as possible, so the eyes are deep and the blue sticks out like this.

(it doesn't matter if the whole icon looks blueish.)
-Now you can put the background copy back to visible, but now make the base invisible by clicking the eye. Now make a new adjustment layer, gradient map, normal 100%, and use a gradient that is black and white. Merge visible. So then the background layer should look like this.

-Now make the base visible again. Now use your eraser tool ( make sure you're on the background layer) and erase the eyes, then merge visible to look like this.

-Then sharpen (using your sharpen tool) the eyes so they look clear and better like this.

-Now for the coloration.
-Take this texture by ???? and set it to color burn 100%

-It should look like this.

-Now add this texture by ???? (sorry I can't remember names that much) and set it to soft light 48%

-And your done! It should look like this.

-But if you want it lighter you can duplicate your base and set it to screen 50% to look like this.

And that's it. If you didn't get some of the steps just ask, and I will help the best I can! I would love to see your results and I would most certainly love comments! And If it seems I made a mistake in the tutorial tell me! I don't want anybody confused.
