[Mod Post] Moderated Posting!
Hi, gang!
This worked well last year so I'm doing it again.
Effective immediately, 24 December, this community is on moderated posting through New Year's Day. (And possibly for a few days thereafter.)
This means that anything you post goes into an approval queue, and one of the mods has to approve it. What THAT means is that if you post something, it may take a few hours to a few days to show up in the community. If several people have asked the same or extremely similar questions in a short period of time, we may pick the best one to post and not post the others.
That means you need to READ what gets posted, because it'll answer your question too. And obviously, any posts that are against the community rules (where can I find...) will be deleted from the queue.
We'll do our best to update the queue often and in small batches, but it's Christmas for the three of us too and I know I, at least, have insane family obligations. (That is to say, obligations to an insane family. Or rather two insane families, as I personally get to travel several states meeting the boyfriend's clan. ;) )
We do this because at this time of year, many, many people get new computers, new software, and / or computer upgrades, and are home from work or school to play with said software. That means our post volume increases and our post quality decreases, and it's just easier to moderate the queue than it is to delete the posts that don't belong.
If you're feeling terribly generous this holiday season,
icon_tutorial is a paid account and its time is up again in January. ;) Otherwise, enjoy your time off if you've got it!
