I am having an irritating problem with some of my textures (primarily black ones with white scratches) looking less than what they normally look like. I use Photoshop CS2, and please feel free to delete this if it's not allowed here, but I am at a loss as to what the problem is.

ETA: Thank you anyway for everyone's help, but apparently the problem I'm having is unrelated to Photoshop since the texture looks super light whenever I open it with ANY program. Sorry for posting this here!

For example, the scratchy texture by peoplemachines/tokyo.disparue.org

does not normally look like this when set at 100%. And the fact that my cap is smaller than the actual screen doesn't make a difference, because what you're seeing here is pretty much exactly what it looks like in my PS window. Any suggestions as to why it would be so light and hard to see?
