Pirates of the Carribbean Tutorial (Jack and Elizabeth)

1. Duplicate your base, and set it to Screen 100%.

2. Up the master saturation to +29.

3. Fill a new layer with #130235 and set it to Exclusion 100%.

4. Fill a new layer with #f3c7ce and set it to Soft Light 40%.

5. New Selective Color layer:

RED: -48, 0, -100, 0
YELLOW: 42, 0, -51, 0
NEUTRAL: 36, 0, -15, 0

6. Duplicate your base, bring it to the top, and set it to Soft Light 100%.

--- The coloring part is done. You can leave it as is, or you can continue. It's up to you. ----

7. I used a small frame brush (I think it's by Donnerstag, but I'm not sure), and set it to Multiply 100%. Use your Magic Wand Tool on the FRAME LAYER. Select the black background. With that still selected, click on your J/E layer, and press delete. This should get rid of the parts of that layer that aren't showing.

8. Next, I found a picture of Jack's compass. I opened it in Photoshop, and got rid of the background layer.

9. I pasted just the compass onto my icon, desaturated it, and flipped it horizontally so it was facing the way I wanted it. I lowered the opacity to 50%.

10. I pasted some tiny text in the bottom for effect, and typed "the sea is burning". I lowered the opacity to 50%.

C'est fini! Tres bien, tout. :)

Tell me what you've got!
