About Crediting..

Hey, I'm new to this icon creating/using business, and I'm not sure how to credit.  How can I keep track of every texture I used (by whom), images, bla bla bla?  Should one credit every single texture or image or anything they take?  I don't have a community/journal that's full of the icons i used, so i cant really have a resource list, so should i just credit them on the icon comments??  How can I remember all of the stuff I used??  I'll be very grateful if you helped.  I really dont want to be flamed by icon creators.
