How to make this effect
Hi, I'm new here. :D I started making icons (and using CG in general) earlier this year so I have a lot to learn. I've been wondering how to make the animated effect seen in the two icons below, where the frames (of image or text) sort of fades or shifts into each other.
Usually when I do animation the transition between the frames is very quick and kind of jarring. I asked my friend who made that first icon you see there, and she said she used something called "toggle", but I can't seem to figure out what that is and how it works. A tutorial or link to a preexisting tutorial about these types of effects is very much appreciated.
(I use Photoshop CS2 btw, in case that's important)
