Marilyn Monroe Tutorial
We're going from
to
with PS 7.0
I didn't try this tutorial on any images with light/patterned backgrounds, so I don't know how they will turn out for you.
I recommend using a base with a black background for best results. =)
1. Duplicate your base and set it to Screen 35%
(Feel free to play with the opacity if it's too light/dark for you.)
2. Layer -- New Fill Layer -- Solid Color
Fill with #2D0C35 and set to Exclusion 100%
3. Layer -- New Adjustment Layer -- Color Balance
Midtones: +33 +25 +34
Shadows: +100 +21 0
Highlights: -51 +13 -3
4. Layer -- New Adjustment Layer -- Selective Color
Reds: -45 +76 +100 +100
Yellows: -100 0 +16 +60
Magentas: -44 +33 -9 +10
Neutrals: 0 0 +14 0
Blacks: -3 +100 -27 +22
5. Layer -- New Adjustment Layer -- Brightness/Contrast
Brightness: +3
Contrast: +9
6. Layer -- New Adjustment Layer -- Hue/Saturation
Master: 0 -25 0
Reds: 0 +63 -38
Yellows: 0 +44 -40
Magentas: +3 +47 -15
7. Layer -- New Adjustment Layer -- Brightness/Contrast
Brightness: +5
Contrast: +8
And voila!

You're done. =)
