Cleaner Edges?

are there any posts about cleaning up the edges when using the healing brush tool? I'm using PS7...I just want the edges to be more defined and cleaner...this is something i just used as an example...




oh! also, when making an icon at the size of 100x100 do you add the text the same way you would if the pic were bigger? It may seem like a strange question but I have noticed a difference in icons...
