Tutorial #1: Pete Wentz
I'll show you how to turn this
into this
It's my first turorial.
There's no selective coloring or curves.
I made it using photoshop elements 4.0.
Step One:
Get your base, then sharpen it or whatever you want to do to prepare it.
Step Two:
Add a new layer, set it to soft light, and fill it with #610404.
Step Three:
Add another layer, set it to color dodge and fill with #570344.
Step Four:
Another new layer, set it to exclusion and fill with #030847.
Step Five:
Add a layer, set to linear dodge at 30% and fill with #ff3edd.
Step Six:
Last step! Add a new final layer, set to difference and fill with #140d4a.
That's it! It's pretty basic, but it's a cool effect.
If you want the image brighter or darker, try messing around with the opacity of the linear dodge. And if it's too dark you can take down the opacity of the soft light layer.
Other icons I made using this:

I'd love to see how it worked for everyone else! =]
