Question

I'm not exactly sure how to word this, but I'll give it a shot:)  I use PS7.

I'm trying to create a background texture using a stock image, but I can't remember how to do it. I do believe that it involved the single column marquee tool. It involved somehow dragging the image both left and right to warp the original image into a gradient-like texture

Like THIS (I don't have the original pic, I'm sorry.)

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about, or know how I can achive this effect again. I would really appreciate it.
