My Question Post

Okay, I have a couple colorings I'm looking for-and some effects. Originals are included-or close to, at least. Tell me if they are yours, I will credit. I've been looking for these all for ages, and finally decided one big question post was necessary.

first off, i would love to know how to get the white effect so text is visible. i don't know if it's a brush, a texture...??


i would love to know how to get the faded, yet strong look of the icon--ive tried but can't get it. please help, again :D
