Tutorial #1: Icon coloring

So.. here it is.

Going from to with Photoshop 7 using selective color and curves.

1. Open your picture and prepare (resize, sharpen, etc.) it.
2. Duplicate your base layer and set it on screen.
3. Add a yellow (mine is #F1EA3E) layer and set it to Soft Light, Opacity 20%. You can change the opacity later. ;P
4. Add a selective color layer. Here are the settings:

R: C: -100 ; M: +6 ; Y: -40 ; B: 0
C: C: +100 ; M: 0 ; Y: -33 ; B: 0
B: C: 0 ; M: 0 ; Y: -59 ; B: 0
N: C: +17 ; M: 0; Y: 18 ; B: -13

5. Now, duplicate the selective color layer once.
6. Make a Curves layer using these settings:

R: Input: 124 ; Output: 150
G: Input: 136 ; Output: 147
B: Input: 131 ; Output: 155

7. Last step: Make a Brightness-Contrast Layer and set Contrast to 9.

That's all! If the result doesn't look good you can change the opacity to the Yellow Soft Light layer we made in step 3 or even delete it. ;)
It won't work the same with every picture... and yes, i know, the skin looks weird. :>
