we'll be going from
this
in 7 steps
Step 1: Import your base picture. Crop and place to your own liking, if you’re just practicing, you’re welcome to use the image that I’m demonstrating with
Step 2: Duplicate your base layer, set to screen at 81% and lock your layer, no further adjustments need to be made
Step 3: Using the Vector Shape tool, draw a square 100x100 pixels and fill it with #000033, set to Exclusion and change its opacity to 54%, lock the layer
Step 4: Sharpen your base layer using your filters
Step 5: Using the Colour Fill filter set the fill colour to be #CC0000 and set the blend mode to Saturation and set the opacity to 52%
Step 6: Using the Curves filter, under Adjust Colour, drop down the top menu and select Green and input the following numbers: Input: 5 Output: 10
Step 7: Drop down the menu again and select Blue, input the following numbers: Input: 10 Output 10
You’re now done!
There will be minor adjustments on the amount of opacity needed and the input and output of curves depending on your image, the trick is to just fiddle around slightly with different settings until you get the look you want!
