Photoshop Newbie.
Hey everyone. I had a couple questions about Photoshop. Firstly, I should say that I am brand new to the program...as in, I only got it yesterday...and it's the ancient version, 5.5. I've used PSP7 for the last two years, so I do know a generalization of working with an art program.
I can follow tutorials well, except I'm a bit confused about the basics of the program. Normally, in PSP, after I've cropped the 100x100 area from an image, I right-click, and select "Paste as New Image," which pastes my 100x100 selection as a new image. I tried to do this in Photoshop, but I didn't have that option. I don't know how to find my other options, like pasting a new layer.
Essentially, I just need help with the very basics. How to paste what I've cropped, as a new image, how to do multiple layers, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sorry if this seems redundant, or has been posted before. Thank you for your time!
EDIT: This is essentially what I'm trying to do. I did that in PSP. What I did was, I select the area I want to take from the image, hit Ctrl+X, then right click over the gray area. I get a list of options, which include "Paste as New Image" ; "Paste as New Layer" ; "Paste as New Selection," etc.; I clicked "Paste as New Image," and the image on the right is what I get.
...I basically want to do this in Photoshop. :)
