When I was making goof graphics, I came across this coloring that I particularly liked. I tried it on icons + it worked fairly well on all of them.
1) If your picture is pretty light, you don't need a screen layer. If it's a little dark, you should add one. Feel free to change the opacity after you see the final result.
2) Make a new fill layer + fill with #A7E1FF. Set to Vivid Light, 29%.
3) Add a new adjustment layer > Hue/Saturation and set it to 50 (or whatever looks good with your icon!)
... and that is it! Feel free to sharpen, add textures, text, whatever!
