vibrant coloring tutorial
how to go from this to 
it uses curves. however! i made this in photoshop elements four. i installed a plugin that allows me to use curves now! it works in every version of elements except for five. go here and download it!
first, obviously, get your picture and crop it or whatever you do. screen it if it needs screening, sharpen it if it needs sharpening, whatever. then, make a hue/saturation layer. make the saturation on the master somewhere between +20 and +40. then, go to red and put your setting somewhere between +5 and +15. this totally depends on your picture so adjust it however, just make sure the colors are somewhat vibrant.
then, make a new curves layer. put it to these settings:
RGB: in: 142 out: 176
point two: in: 99 out: 123
red: in: 132 out: 149
green: in: 107 out: 101
blue: in: 145 out: 155
press okay. then, make a new layer and fill it with #000f36. set it to exclusion. and wella! you're done. :]
