Coloring Tutorial

Uses selective coloring. May not work on all pics.

Open your base, crop it, sharpen it, etc. You know the drill.



Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Selective Coloring:

Reds: -13, 2, -8, 5
Yellows: 0, 0, 0, -100
Magentas: 0, 100, 0, 0
Neutrals: 0, 4, 0, 0



Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation:

Red: +35
Yellow: +30



Still not quite the effect I want. So go to Layer>Flatten Image, then Image>Replace Color. Using the eyedropper, I select a color from her lips, then up the saturation to around 40.



Then Image>Replace Color again, select a color from her chin or near her lips (not from the darker area around the apples of her cheeks), and up the Lightness to +5 or around there.
