A Beginner's List of Questions
Hi, I've just started trying to make icons and have quite a few questions. From reading the FAQs etc, I think some of my questions are not appropriate here, but I hope you don't mind me lumping all my questions together in one post.
I'm using Adobe Phototshop & ImageReady CS2.
I'm using Adobe Phototshop & ImageReady CS2.
1. What's the best way to reduce the size of an image and keeping the highest quality possible?
2. In Photoshop, when I use the Animation bar, I start with an image and duplicate it several times. But when I try to make a change on one of the 'frame', it changes all of them. What am I doing wrong? (at the moment I'm just creating a new image/frame and then importing it into ImageReady, which I find time consuming.
3. Ok. I'm aware of tweening - that's transitioning from one image to another isn't it? Is it possible to tween from 1 to another AND rotating the image at the same time. Eg. 1st picture is an arm pointing downwards and the final picture is the arm at a horizontal position.
4. I've tried pasting an image onto another and most of the time it's really obvious it's there. All I have been doing is to blur the edges of the pasted image. I do the same thing if the picture I cut has shakey borders. Is there a better way to do this? Is there somekind of 'smoothing' option? - Something to curb the jagged edges?
5.Fonts - it only seems to allow you to use one type of font. By this I mean, 'Regular', Italic, Bold.. Can't I have Italic AND Bold?
6.Banners - Are there general size templates/ratio for this type of art, or is it pretty much 'Whatever you want' (within reason of course!)
7. Sorry, this question prob doesn't fit this community as it might be a computer problem. Sometimes, I'm using a 1-5px brush and the curser becomes a small 'crosshair'(?), and the thing flipping disappears! Is it my poor eyesight? Something wrong with my computer? Or is it known to happen with this software?
I think thats it for now. There were more, but I got them solved from the FAQ and the tutorials I could find.
Thanks for any help and please inform me if any of this post is inappropriate.
