From this: to this:

First off, I started by using this picture:


I cropped the picture to a 420x250. :) Now for Harry, I made his eyes green by adding a layer with the color #18ff00 using a soft 9x9 fuzzy brush.
Merge those and duplicate to Overlay, opacity 100.
Make a new layer and add the color #ffe400 settnig it at Soft Light, opacity 58.
Merge those layers.


After that then you do a Color Balance:
~COLOR BALANCE~
Midtones: -100, -60, 40
And it will look like this:


Alright! Now what I did was I used a lot of color layers. Don't freak out, it's pretty easy: Make three new layers.
First, put in the color #f5d5f8 and set it at Soft Light, opacity at 60.
Then: #b7d7ef set it too Burn.

Next you use this color: #e3ca9a set to Multiply at 60.

Copy the first color: #f5d5f8 twice and bring both to the top. Set the fisrt one to Overlay at 80.
The second one set at Burn at 100.

The next part is Exclusion (screen, screen, subtract for GIMPers) use this color #010111, 100.
merge and duplicate:


The second you will use Channel Mixer:
~CHANNEL MIXER~
Red: 169, -60, 0
Green: 0, 100, 0
Blue: -60, 60, 100
(preserve luminosity on)
Leave it at Normal and then set it to 60.



Now, this is for the banner, if your making an icon you can disregard this if you'd like: Next, I used a texture by peoplemachines and removed everything except the black top. Set it at Multiply, 100.


and then crop it to a 100x100. I focused on the people on the right. :) And that is it!
