2nd Tut
Go from
to
8 Steps, PS 7, Translatable.
Go ahead and prep your base however you like. I chose not to do anything to mind except cropping.
Step One: Duplicate your base, sharpen and set to screen 100%.
Note: I sharpened the duplicate, but not the base. You can sharpen the base before duplicating if you like.

Step Two: Duplicate your base and desaturate. Set to overlay 100%.

Step Three: Repeat Step 2.

Step Four: Create a new layer, fill with #DDC99F and set to multiply 41%.

Step Five: Create a new layer, fill with #EBC77A and set to color burn 26%.

Step Six: Create a new layer and select the brush tool. Using color #FFFBEF, use a grungry brush on a couple of the edges (I used brush smear 1 from at0mica.net, but any others will do). Leave on normal 100%.

Step Seven: New layer. Rotate canvas 90 degrees counterclockwise (CCW). Using #2E2E2E, I made some lines using a dirty lines brush from at0mica.net. I set this layer to color burn at 100%.

Step Eight: New layer. Using the font Di and the same color in the step above, I typed out agony of defeat. I decided that I wanted it to be wider, so I selected the move tool, then checked the box that says “Show Bounding Box”, then zoomed in and widened the text a bit. I set the layer to multiply at 89%, then rotated the canvas 90 degrees clockwise.
And that’s pretty much it! Hope you guys liked this one. :)
