Created on Photoshop CS. Uses selective coloring, non-translatable.

Go from this:

to this:



1) Resize your picture to 100 x 100. DON'T SHARPEN YET.

2) Duplicate base, set to screen (This particular icon was bright enough without the screen layer, but you may need more than one depending on how dark your base is).

3) New selective color layer, use these settings:
Reds: -100, -2, +100, 0
Yellows: -100, 0, +100, 0
Neutrals: +56, 0, -53, -18
Blacks: +11, +5, +13, +43

4) New hue/saturation adjustment layer:
Master: +27

5) New layer, fill with FFC3EF; set to color burn, 58%.

6) Duplicate base, bring to top, set to Soft Light 24%.

7) New layer, fill with FFFED6; set to soft light, 42%.

8) New color balance adjustment layer:
Midtones: -16, +27, +22
Shadows: +47, -17, +24
Preserved Luminosity checked.

9) New layer, fill with D5F6FF; set to color burn, 100%.

10) New layer, fill with E5D1BD; set to multiply, 47%.

And you're done! Sharpen, add text, whatever your heart desires!
