Hello all! I come bearing a lovely little tutorial. Today we'll be making this icon:

Alright, here we go! Very simple.
Step one: Take your image and crop it, sharpen it, etc. I'm using this picture of Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire:
Step two: Duplicate your base and set it to screen 100%
Step three: Make a new layer and fill it with #00022A, a very dark blue colour, and set it to exclusion 100%
Step four: Make another new layer and fill it with #043649, a dark blue-green, and set it to overly 100%
Tada! You're done. Feel free to play with the layer opacities and make it your own! I would love to see what you've made. For example, here's another icon I made using the tutorial:
