Rounding Edges
Okay, so I’ve seen people around in forums and stuff ask how to do this, so I thought I’d write a tutorial on it.
It's to achieve this effect:
It’s for rounding the edges of the picture, and in particular, rounding opposite edges, but at the same time keeping the transparency.
So first, get the icon, and merge into the one layer. Then copy and paste it into a new document 102 x 102 px.
Then ctrl + click on the icon layer of the layer panel so the icon is selected, but not the one px on the sides (but if you want to make things hard for yourself, you could always use the rectangular marquee tool, like I did before I remembered ctrl + click. I was all “LMFAO STUPID” xDD) like so:

Then go to select > modify > smooth and put in the following setting:

Okay, so now you have rounded edges on your icon. If this is what you want then skip this next section and come back at the end.
To get the opposite edges thingy going on, go to magnify, and click “fit on screen” because it’s much easier to see what you’re doing when it’s massive. Then select the polygonal lasso tool and go to whatever edge you want to make pointy.

So you’ve selected your pointy corners, what you need to do now is inverse the selection. If you’ve skipped the pointy corners part then you come back to this part! You do this by clicking ctrl + shift + i. Then press delete and then deselect by pressing ctrl + d. What you’re left with is something that looks like this:

Then go to image > canvas and then change the pixels to 100 x 100 and yay you’re done! Make sure to save it as .gif to keep the transparency, and when saving, make sure the background layer is hidden. First time I did this, it took me hours to work out what was wrong xDD
Finished icon with the rounded edges:
It wasn't the best kind of icon (too much white in some corners) to display the whole rounding edges thing, but I was honestly too lazy to make a new icon =D
You can also make stuff like the icon below, pretty self explanatory:
