The simplest icon tutorial ever. I mean it.


Achieve this color within three steps.

First I cropped this picture of her to 100x100.

Result:

I then made a negative version of that layer.

Result:

Making sure the negative layer was on top I set the blend mode to overlay.

Soft light has a nice effect as well

And voila, desired color effect is achieved.
