Fairy tutorial
Alrighty, my first tutorial. Nothing fancy, but I thought I'd share it anyway ;)
We'll be going from this to
Program: Photoshop CS3 Beta
Translateable: actually, I don't know
Difficulty level: super easy...
Image heavy: no
First, take the base and crop it to 100x100 pixels.
Then, copy your base and desaturate it (Shift+Ctrl+U). Leave it at Normal.
Now select the Eraser tool and start erasing the butterfly. You will see the colors from the layer underneath coming through.
Once you've erased the butterfly, duplicate that layer and set it to Overlay at 30%.
Duplicate again, yet set it to Screen at 30%.
Add a new layer.
Select the entire layer by pressing Ctrl+A and go to Edit - Stroke.
Choose a 1 pixel border, color black. Set that layer at Soft Light at 100%.
Finally, add some text if you like.
I used a brush by
meleada from her "Autumn Text" brush set.
That's it! Easy as pie, isn't it? Like I said, nothing fancy, yet quite a nice result. Have fun!
