Hi everyone! This is my first time posting. I hope to add some tutorials for you soon, but I'll get straight to the point. I read through the memories, and while there is some information on textures, the problem I'm having specifically deals with light textures I believe.
It looks like both of these icons use some sort of light texture or light technique, but when I use the light textures I downloaded they don't turn out looking like that. What I do is after I have my icon cropped/sized the way I want it, I add a new layer and fill the texture in with the paint bucket tool. Then I set the layer to either screen or soft light and adjust the opacity as desired, but it still doesn't turn out with quite the intense light that these icons have (behind the text in both icons). Is there another technique I should use, or do I want to try to find other light textures? And if so, where should I look?
By the way, I use Paint Shop Pro 7, but I also have Photoshop Elements 5.0. This problem has been bothering me for a while now. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
