1. Crop your base, but don't sharpen!

2. Filter -> Sharpen -> Unsharp Mask
My settings:
Amount: 15
Radius: 250
Threshhold: 0
Play around with these

2.1. If you don't have Unsharpen Mask, just try duplicating and setting to Soft Light, then playing around with the saturation and opacity.
3. Duplicate base, then set to screen. Desaturate (ctrl+shift+u), then tinker with the opacity. I did 50%.

4. Make a new layer, fill with 080C35, and set to Exclusion

5. Do the same thing with BFD8CF, but set to Color Burn. I did 80% opacity, but do what looks right.

6. Make a new Selective Color layer. Here are my settings:
Reds: C: 100 M: 0 Y: 0 B: 0
Yellows: C: 100 M: 41 Y: -14 B: 53
Whites: C: 0 M: 0 Y: 0 B: -90
Neutrals: C: 10 M: 10 Y: 5 B: 5

7. Make your final adjustments to the opacities and merge the layers
8. Add test, brushes, and/or textures if you want. I wrote "belong to a song" in white in 4 pt Century Gothic, then set this texture by
tsukicon on Multiply 30%.
9. Another fun thing you could do is go back to before the merge and play with the opacity of or even delete the base for a totally different effect!
And... DONE!
