Screencap Question- Not answered in memories

I have a question about screencapping. I am currently running on an eMac, and I have the plain old DVD Player. Is it at all possible to screencap using DVD Player? If not, can you download any Macintosh compatible DVD players? Or can you open DVD's in Quicktime? Thanks!
