screen capping

okay,
i just tried to screen cap some scenes frm chicago.
cos i wanted to make icons out of them
but when i hit print screen,
then paste it into paint shop pro x, it's just a blank screen, the picture doesnt come up.
just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this or anything.
