Photoshop CS tutorial: Children of Dune

My first tutorial! w00t!



This is for Photoshop CS

First, i started off with this screencap from the movie Children of Dune.



Beautiful, eh? But we're gonna make it prettier. :D

First, duplicate your base and set it to Screen 100.

You should have something that looks like this:



Now, for the curves. Go to Layer/New Adjustment Layer/Curves and put these settings in for your Red, Green, and Blue (leave the RGB alone)

Red:
Green:
Blue:

Now you should have something that looks like this:



Duplicate your base again and move it to the top. Set it to Screen 100.



Now, do a gradient.



Just do it from the lower lefthand corner to the upper righthand corner with black.



Now, duplicate your base AGAIN. Move it to the top and set it to Soft Light 64.



Now, i think of this as a base image. There's a lot of things you can do with this.......here's what I did:

By the way, to get the torn paper effect, I used grrliz's torn paper tutorial. It's fscking awesome!
