Aaack!

Okay, I looked for help on this in the memories but couldn't find anything - if this is a repost, please let me know.

I've been trying to make an animated icon in Adobe ImageReady that will resemble an AIM conversation. It's still in the works, but I tried to save the initial version, and this is what happened:

The colors in the original were purple for the top line ("romance of teh intarwebs") and then red, blue, and black for the rest - blue for "BOY:", red for "GIRL:", and black for the text of the IMs, like a regular AIM conversation. And that's how it looks in the "original" version in ImageReady. But when I click over to Optimized, it all turns purple, and when I Save As Optimized, it's all purple as well. I didn't change the file size and reduce the colors that way - it just happened. This has never happened to me before, and I've no idea why it's happening now. Any suggestions as to how I can get the rest of my colors back?

With my luck this is probably going to turn out to be something totally stupid and I'll be wincing all day once someone points out what I did wrong, but I can't figure it out. :(
