my second tut!
I am on a roll this weekend lol.
My second tut for you all. It's simple and can be in any program i think. I have PSP9.

Okay. I started with this photo:
I then cut it down into a 100x100 icon & got this:
Then I just sharpened it once because it was really blurry to my liking. But you dont have to if you dont see the need to.
Next I duplicated the base layer and set it to screen 100%; and i got this:
Okay, so simple enough so far. Now you are going to take this gradient:
and set it to burn 100%; and i got this:
Kind of dark, huh? So then what I did was merge all layers. Then I do the sharpen tool and sharpened just the eyes and the mouth to get this:
I did that once more over the eyes only to get more drastic look of this:
To me it still looked kind of crappy and dark so what i did was merge all layer if i needed to them pressed ctrl+shift+B. Then I set it to Brightness 11 and Contrast 10. Then which I got this:
.
And your done. You can do the last step again and it still looks fine to me when I did it. then just add some text or whatever and voila. I also tested using a dark blue about #353a61 then set it to exclusion around 50 and it looked really good to. Then I got this:
and once again just hit sharpen under the adjust menu.
