improving?

I'm here to ask for advice/help on improving this screencap for an icon.

Most of the screencaps for this show are very dark and yellow-ish. I've tried Auto-Color but it only works half of the time (either making it a nasty greenish tint or a nice blue). Screening the image makes it too washed out and makes the picture unclear. I have tried Curves, but it turns washed-out.

So, I'm asking for advice on how to make this suitable...and nice looking.
