Alright, so we start with . You crop it and resize it to , then sharpen once:

Go to adjust>brightness and contrast>curves.

RGB - Input: 128, Output: 71

Red - Input: 128, Output: 150

Green - Input: 83, Output: 132

Blue - Input: 26, Output: 116

Now, if you're using this tutorial for a different icon, remember that you should adjust the levels to fit your image.

This is where we are now:

Now, paste this texture thingy by me  on top of your base as a new layer. Then set the layer's blend mode at soft light on 74 opacity.

Create a burn layer on top of everything, and fill it in with #F49AC1 at 44 opacity. Now we have: .

Merge all. Then duplicate the base layer, and set the duplicated layer on screen at 52 opacity. Merge all again. This is the finished product:

That's all. I just thought the colouring was pretty nifty. ^_^ You can add text if you want, which I did: . I typed "robot heart" in all caps, Georgia size five, black.
