I have some time on my hands today so I was experimenting. Not sure how much I like it as of yet but Ill show you what I did. Made on PSP but should be transferable.

1) Start out with this snappy screencap from teh_indy




2)Crop>resize to 100x100>sharpen

Base:

3)Adjust automatic color balance: Illumination temp:4305 Strength:72

4)Adjust the brightness and contrast. I had it set to Brightness: 63 Contrast: 11

5)Duplicate this base 3 times. Set all to screen. Play around with opacity. I set all levels around 55%

6)Create a new layer. Fill with a dark blue. Set to exclusion at 100%

7)Create a new layer. Fill with a peach-tan. Set to multiply at 100%

8)Create a new layer. Fill with a dark blue. Set to exclusion at 100%. Notice how I choose a bit darker blue from before.

9)Create a new layer. Fill with an olive green. Set to burn at 100%

10)Create a new layer. Fill with a light blue. Set to burn at 100%

11)Merge all the layers

12)Duplicate it

13)Desaturate this top layer. (shortcut is CTRL L)

14)Set to Screen

15) Paste this texture on made by me (evita_icons)and set to Hard Light

*Note:Any colorful texture should work. I was just playing around and came up with this, pathetic I know but it works :)

16+) I played with the palette tool a bit with touch ups and to make it look a bit more grundgy (is that a word?) Anyway I used a text called: Regifter Stars in size 22. Then dropped a shadow once.

Final product:
