Maggie Grace tutorial
Going from
to
.
Hey! I've lurked for a while and finally decided to do a tutorial. I hope this is easy to understand and you enjoy!
I made this with Paint Shop Pro 8.
1. I start with this base taken from this photoshoot of Maggie Grace.
2. Duplicate the base.
Ctrl+H and I desaturate and then set that layer to soft light.
I duplicate that layer.
3. I copy merged and repaste in PSP. Some people prefer to do the whole icon in one go, but I like to repaste.
Also, you don't need to do this, but I like to have a Paint Brush open to copy my icon into every so often in case PSP crashes, so I don't lose everything I've done.
4. Your icon should now look something like this:

5. Sharpen the image and create new Rastor layer.
6. I use to the fill tool to fill the rastor layer with this gradient
, and set the layer to Multiply. My icon now looks like this.

7. I create another rastor layer and fill it with this gradient
. Ctrl+H and change the hue to 125 and set the layer to screen, opasity 66%. My icon looks like this:

8. Copy merged. Create a new rastor layer and use this brush.
Icon is done! :)
