David boreanaz icon using textures
In this tutorial you'll learn how to go from this
, to this
using Photoshop.
1. Open a new document, copy the image and paste on it. Resize and move it until you like it.
I'll start from this:

2. First thing we're gonna do is soften the image.
Duplicate the base layer.
Pick the Smudge Tool.
Choose a 13 pix blurred brush, Mode: Lighten and strengh 23%. Brush over David's skin, but don't brush over the hair and lips.
You'll get something like that:

3. Copy and paste this texture from
filipinoz_rule
Edit >> Transform >> Flip horizontal
Set the texture mode to Screen

4. Make a new layer. Using a blurred 65 px brush
and #FFFFFF as frontcolor, brush over the borders of the icon.

5. Add this gradient (I don't know who made it, if you know, just tell me and I'll credit)
Set Overlay mode and 95% opacity.

Make a new layer, fill it with white. Set it to Overlay mode and 38% opacity.

6. Add this texture
by
ashke_icons and set it to Screen mode 58% opacity.
Also Edit >> Transform >> Rotate 90º CW

7. Maybe it needs less contrast, so
Layer >> New Adjunstment layer >> Brightness/Contrast
Depends on your icons, you'll have to choose different levels.

And that's it!!
I added some text (I'm not specially good at text as you can see) and here's the final result.

Hope you enjoy the tutorial. It's my first non-spanish one, so please bare with me and tell me if I've written something wrong, and if it's easily understandable.
If you have some question, just ask ;)
