Colourization

Hey guys. I always use this as a last resort, meaning I search and experiment and ask around before I even think about posting a question here. And yes, I did look through the memes, but just don't seem to be working for me. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some guidelines for skin colourization. I have no idea where to start, whatever I try ends up looking a fake Bob Barkerish orange. I've struggled with this for such a long time, that I'd just avoid doing it. But I need to figure this out. So what kinds of colours do you find works for you most of the time? PS or PSP, I use both.

Tried using a lot of different browns, on overlay, softlight, multiply and colour/legacy. But every time I just keep getting a really fake looking skin tone, like this:




Any tips and guidelines would help me out a lot.
