I spent the other night searching the tutorials, and I couldnt find any. So hopefully someone can help me.

I have two icons, that Im wondering how to do the effects.

 How do you make the background switch colors like that? Credit: touchofdust

 And how do you make the text glow? Credit: defeated

Also if anyone can point me in the direction of the swirling text effect, can you please do so? I deleted it by mistake. Thanks in advance!
