Tutorial #4
Someone was curious about how I got my coloring and so I wrote this tutorial. It's for PSP8, but I think that it can be translated to other programs. Maybe.
We are going to go from this picture from Bonnie-fan.com's GoF premier page to
Step one: Crop the pic. Then resize to 100x100. Then sharpen once. To get this:

Step 2: Smooth out the skin on her face and neck. I click on the Soften Brush with these settings:
I like to zoom in so that I can see the pixels on the picture, which is around 500. Be careful to avoid the eyes and mouth. I also avoided the hair on her neck but smoothed the wisps on her forhead. I ended up with this:

Step 3: Duplicate the base and set it to multiply 100% to get this:

I know it's not pretty but it will end up making a big difference in the end.
Step 4: Create a new raster layer, flood fill it with black, and then set it to soft light 100% to get:

Still not pretty but the next step will make these two worth it.
Step 5: Duplicate the base, drag it to the top and set it to screen 100% to get:

Step 6: Create a new raster layer on top. Flood fill it with #010829 and set it to exclusion 100% to get:

Step 7: Create a new raster layer on top. Flood fill it with #F0DCB9 and set it to color at 20% to get:

Step 8: Take this gradient
(made by
sistasouljah99), paste it on top as a new layer and set it to soft light 50% to get:

Step 9: Duplicate the base, drag it to the top and set it to soft light 100%:

Step 10: Now you could stop at step 9 but I don't really like the yellowish light behind her so I added this brush
(which for some reason is in a folder called 15, so if it's yours let me know so I can credit you) and then moved it so it only covered the light:

And you're done. You could add text or other brushes but I like this one like it is.
