Great for beginners

Today we are going to go from this: to in a few simple steps.



Step One:

First off start out with a high quality(high definition) picture. I got mine from mugglenet.com but other sites like gettyimages.com have good stuff too.

Our base:

Step Two:

Sharpen twice.

Our icon:

Step Three:

Duplicate the base two times. Set both of the layers to soft light at 100%

Step Four:

Create a new raster layer between the top and middle layer. Flood fill with #15162f

Looks like this:

Set to soft light at 70%

Step Five:

Create another new raster on top this time. Flood fill with #ccbc9c

Looks like this:

Set to soft light at 100%

Our icon:

Step Six:

Noticing that our icon coloring is a bit off. I decide to merge all the layers. I then duplicate that base and set it to saturation. Then I desaturate it (short cut is SHIFT L)to 35%.

Step Seven:

Add this light texture at soft light at 100% (I dont know who made this.. if you recognize it please let me know ok?)

Light Texture:

Add text and a border and viola! We're done. Please dont judge me by my text. I am horrible at text :)
