I checked the memories, but couldn't find anything that helped.

Whenever I resize an image, I get a small 1px border around the image that is slightly transparent. Before, whenever I duplicated the layer, the transparent border would go away completely and it would be fine. But now, when I duplicate the layer, most of the transparency goes away except for a small line in the left-hand corner...and it gets darker for some reason.

Any clue as to why it is doing this? I use both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, depending on the computer I'm on, and I'm having problems with this in BOTH. Also, any clue as to why the transparent border is there in the first place?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
