first icon tutorial *scared*
OK so this is my very first icon tutorial. but i'm going to try my best to make it as good as possible.
we will be making this icon ->
ok so yeah follow the lj-cut..
ok so FIRSTLY we are starting with THIS picture
i hope that doesn't come out too big.
so then we are going to you know, crop it and resize it to 100x100, because thats you do first. so yeah, do that.
so that we end up with:
ok, so now we start actually doing stuff to the picture.we are about to begin.
1.Duplicate Layer and set it to overlay:
2.Now we are going to add that classic "navy blue exclusion layer"
Layer>new fill layer>solid colour>#061244 (thats what i used anyway) and then set it to Exclusion at 100% opacity.
3.now we are going to add this texture -
made by colorfilter i think anyway?
then, desaturate the texture and set it to Linear Light.
4.now we are going to add a 2px line across the bottom (well near the bottom anyway) of the icon.
then get a light yellow colour, and go to blending options>outer glow>foreground to transparent.
we should be here now:
5.next we are going to add text. I used Acidic font, but you can use any font you wish, and keep the same light yellow colour you used for the outer glow. Type anything you want.
6.Now add this brush -
(i don't know who made it)
and place it over the text.
7.next add this border -
(i don't know who made it)
and you are DONE!
