“Shining eyes” – Adobe photoshop 7 AND Animation Shop 3
As suggested by
mommy_2_jazmyn. I decided to make my first tutorial :)
Let's learn how to make:
this icon
Just follow these easy steps…ready? … here we go =D
1.- First, open your base image in photoshop… (this is the base =
)
2.- Then duplicate it and set it “Screen” 55%
3.- Duplicate your background image again, and set it “Soft light” 35%
4.- Now that you have those 3 layers, go to Layer>Merge Visible, and it’ll look like this:
Save it as 000.jpg..don’t close it yet!
5.- Ok, now select the eye’s iris, like this:
and go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast and set it like this:
Brightness: +10
Contrast: +5
6.- Save it like 001.jpg, but don’t close its window yet.
7.- Then go again to Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast and set it like this (yes, again):
Brightness: +10
Contrast: +5
8.- Save it like 002.jpg (don’t close it yet!)
9.- Now…again… Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast and again:
Brightness: +10
Contrast: +5
10.- Save it like 003.jpg
Now open your Animation Shop…let’s make this eye bright! Oh yeah!
1.- Open your bases (000.jpg, 001.jpg, 002.jpg & 003.jpg)
2.- You’re going to paste them THIS WAY: 000.jpg – 001.jpg – 002.jpg – 003.jpg – 002.jpg - 001.jpg let's see this picture to make it clear:

3.- You can see how it looks in View>Animation
4.- If you’d like the animation to play slower than that, do this: in the tool-bar, click on the ARROW and then click on 000 and press ALT + ENTER and in “Display time” you can change the time you want… remember, if you write a high number the animation will display longer, and viceversa.
5.- Make sure to make the step 4 (last one) in each frame of the animation, it means, u have to do this in the both 001, 002 and the 003 ones
6.- Now save it as Compuserve graphics interchange (.gif) and it’s done! =D it’d look like…
this!
That's it kids!! hope u can make tons of icons with this tutorial :) If you have doubts about this, just leave a comment and I'll try to help you, ok?
