First tutorial - Ewan McGregor

This is my first tutorial ever, I'm a little nervious. ;)

Make Image hosted by Photobucket.com from Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I used Photoshop CS2 version 9.

I took the base posted above, duplicated and set it to soft light: Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Next I made two new fill layers: one with #09082f set to Exclusion and one with #cacac8 set to Color Burn.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com <-- It looks like this so far.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com I then added another gradient set to lighten.

After that, I flattened the image, duplicated it and set it to screen 37%.

Now to add the brushes and text. I added this brush (which I made) so that it's a bit cut off at the bottom. The color was #82202e and it was set to Color dodge.

The text was QuickType II mono, #e1acb4, 9pt, smooth anti-alias. The tiny text was the same color, font and anti-alias, except it was 2 point. I duplicated both text layers to get them to show up a bit better.

For the border, I added a brush by sistasouljah99. The color was #6b1320 and it was flipped horizontally. (note: I believe I also enlarged it a bit [using edit > transform > scale] so that less of it was showing on the icon).

I then duplicated the layer, flipped it back again, and set it to Color burn. And it's done. :)

I would really appreciate some feedback, since this is my first tutorial; let me know if anything doesn't work right too. Thanks and hope you enjoyed! By the way, if you'd like the icon you can take it as long as you credit me. :)
