001 Tutorial - Cedric Diggory
Going from this to this
with PS 7.0!
My first tutorial, so don't be too hard on me!
I made this base for this icon;
Sharpen it if you want to (I didn't do it) and duplicate twice.
Set the first one to screen and the second one to Soft Light.
You may have something like this;

Make a new layer and fill it with light pink (#D59EA9).
Set it to Screen.

Find a base that is a bit similiar to the colors of the picture.
I used this one from Colorfilter.

Flip it horizontal and vertical and leave it on Normal.
Cut out the part of Cedric's face and his body.
Make a new layer but keep the deleted part selected!

Go to Edit -> Stroke.
Set it to 2px, White and Outside, make sure the new layer is selected.
Click OK and set it to soft light.

Then grab the duplicated base which was set to soft light and drag it to the top of all layers.
The colors don't quite combinate now so get your pink layer and drag it to above the base layer (mine's colorfilter's).

Now we're almost done.
Put some text on it (mine is Japanse Brush, 18, white, set to soft light and duplicate once) and rotate it a bit.
You're icon is done!

Let me see the results!
