First Tutorial...yay!
Hooray, my first tutorial.
For Photoshop 7, although it might be translateable.

1.) Make your (blank) base. I am using a two screencaps of Arwen from http://www.arwen-undomiel.com (check Return of the King>Anduril-Flame of the West if you want the ones I'm using). The tall picture should be 50X90. The smaller picture should be 90X40. Sharpen the long picture once. Arrange them on your base.
2.) Now, to keep the pictures from crossing over, erase the bit covering the long picture so there's a little bit of space. Merge all layers.
3.) Duplicate your base layer. Desaturate the top layer and set it to Screen 100%
4.) Create a new layer and cover with this texture by gender. Set your new layer to Linear Light 100%
5.) Another new layer. Fill with #EACB8F. Set to Linear Burn, opacity 60%
6.) Duplicate your base layer and drag it to the top. Set to Overlay 100&
6.) Another new layer. Use this texture from Moonlight. Put your texture on a new layer beneath your new base duplicate layer. Keep it at Normal.
7.) Add some text. I used Garamond 10pt in a nice orangeish-tannish color, rotated it a bit, and moved it off the avatar.
8.) Then I added a brush by Loleia that I got from the Padme's Wardrobe forum. Here's an image so you can make the brush:. I put it on a layer below my text layer.
9.) Merge all layers (if you want)
There. You're done. :)
