Maggie Grace tutorial
My first Tutorial ever!
I'll try to show you how to go from
this
to this 
I never did anything like that before so please be understanding ;)
If i used your texture or brush in making this icon please tell me and I'll definitely credit you!
I use Photoshop CS but i think it's translatable.
So, first of all i took this http://fan-sites.org/maggie-grace/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=69&fullsize=1 Maggie Grace Pic.
1. I resized and cropped the image so that my icon now looks like this :
2. I sharpened the picture once (Filter -> Sharpen -> Sharpen)
3. I duplicated the Layer and set the Levels (Image -> Adjustments -> Levels) to the following values :
4. I created a new Layer and added this texture :
Layer Settings to Soft Light and Opacity to 60%
5. I again created a new Layer and added this texture :
Layer Settings to Overlay and Opacity to 80%
6. Now I went and added this texture
Layer Settings to Darken and Opacity to 100%
7. I opened a new document, resized and cropped the Maggie Grace image to 36 x 36
8. I copied this image and pasted it into our icon.
9. Added this Brush
10. And now I added this pretty Text-Brush
I used #8B6073 to colour it.
11. To give the icon the last refinement I added this last brush
Voila! The finished icon! Hope that I have explained everything good enough
and you guys had fun making this Maggie icon. Would love to see what you came out with!
