Listens: I Wanna Be Sedated // The Ramones

I got so bored, so here are three more tutorials, all for PS 7, though I imagine they'd be easily translated.

Feel free to ask any questions if my directions are a little shaky, I'm more than happy to explain myself! :D

1. Ok, let's first start with a base picture. I'm going to be using this one of Constantine Maroulis.

2. I flipped it (Image >> Rotate Canvas >> Flip Horizontal) and rotated it 90 degrees counter clockwise (Image >> Rotate Canvas >> 90 degrees CCW), so it's like he's lying against the bottom. Weird, I know.

3. Crop it to 91 x 88

4. Sharpen (Filter >> Sharpen >> Sharpen)

5. Fill with this gradient, made by crumblingwalls and set the Blending Mode to Screen.

6. Merge all (Layer >> Merge Visible)

7. Create a new 100 x 100, filled with white.

8. Paste the base we were just working on, on to the blank canvas in the top right-hand corner.

9. Add a 1px black border around the pic by selecting the Rectangular Marquee Tool, selecting the picture and right clicking, then hitting Stroke. Make your settings like mine:

Then you get this:

10. Go to the very bottom layer on our new icon thing, and create a new layer above the first one. Using the Eyedropper Tool, select a colour out of the icon. I'm using #8A61C1.

11. Use the following brush in the bottom left-hand corner, making sure it's below the picture and border layers.

It should now look like this:

12. Now go back to the top most layer and create a new one above it. This is our text layer. I simply wrote "Constantine" in caps, with the following settings:
+ Font: Times New Roman, Regular
+ Size: 8pt
+ Anti-Alias: Smooth
+ Colour: #8A61C1
+ Kerning: 10

I duplicate the text layer to make it a little more readable.

13. Create a new layer above the last layer. This time, we're going to add a text brush, by tehsexicons

14. Merge all (Layers >> Merge Visible) and duplicate.

15. Right click on your duplicated layer and hit Blending Options. A window will open, and at the bottom, you will see Stroke. Hit that, and key in the following settings:

+ Size: 1px
+ Position: Inside
+ Blend Mode: Normal
+ Opacity: 100%
+ Fill Type: Colour
+ Colour: #00000

Then hit ok.

And this is our final product!
